Old Friends

Last week was a special one here at the campground—Mark and I had the pleasure of welcoming back some familiar faces. When Gary and Susan pulled in, we recognized them right away from our very first season back in 2023.

They were among the very first campers to ever stay with us, so seeing them roll in again felt a bit like welcoming old friends home. We spent time catching up on their adventures over the past two years, and it was wonderful hearing about the places they’ve explored.

What made the visit even more fun was seeing their reaction to all the changes since they were last here. Back in our first season, the campground was just getting started. Now, they could enjoy our new office and camp store, treat themselves at the bakery, and sip coffee while relaxing in the cozy sitting area. They especially loved the screened porch—a quiet spot that’s perfect for unwinding after a day outdoors.

For us, it was such a good reminder of how far the campground has come and how much we enjoy sharing it with both new and returning guests.
